K-Kids is a leadership organization sponsored by the local Kiwanis. K-Kids perform service projects for their school and community. Fourth and fifth grade teachers at Pershing nominated students with leadership potential to take part in this organization. The students meet every other Friday from 3:00-4:00. During that time, students vote and plan for future projects as well as work on current projects. Last year the K-Kids had great success creating signs for school events, trick-or-treating for Unicef (raising over $270 -- Look at the Unicef website here), cleaning the Pershing courtyard, and organizing a mission drive.

Other Notes
We understand that Fridays are social days in which many students like to be with friends. However, we ask that these friends do not attend K-Kids meeting. Being a K-Kid is an honor that our members worked hard to earn. Because of this, only students who have been invited may take part in meetings. We also ask that siblings do not attend. We are sorry for any inconvenience this creates.
